So after an unsuccessful search for keyboard players, we decided a guitar player with a good voice would work as well. Enter: Josh Dominick. Josh is a friend of Jamie's that he wanted to audition for us because he knew it would be a good fit. Right around the time we decided to do this Covid hit and everything shut down. There wasn't much of anything going and we didn't even have the chance to practice as a band for months. Last summer we did recruit the guitar skills of my friend Todd to play an outdoor show that turned out to be our only gig as a band in all of 2020.
So in March we played as a trio for the first time in forever and Jamie invited Josh out to listen to us. Josh was super excited about all the stuff we were playing and asked us if we wanted a rhythm guitar player. Josh fits right into what we do. The warm sound of my bluesy Stratocaster mixes well with the twangy sound of his Telecaster. We also agreed that the reasoning behind having another guitar player is not just so there will be a rhythm guitar whenever I play solos, but that we would use it to its highest potential and creatively as possible. Josh works to create unique 2nd guitar parts that fit right into our originals and covers. We also keep working on having him sing more lead on songs and working together on our harmonies as a band. We are happy to have him and hope he enjoys playing with us in the long run. Out new potential is limitless.
